U Dream Football have started to scout new talented Indian boys as part of their scouting programme. The U Dream Football programme, an initiative by Ronnie Screwvala’s U Sports, was launched last year in association with German Bundesliga side TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.

Last season, U Dream Football conducted school tournaments in 46 cities around India to scout for the country’s best U-15 talent, while the selected boys would then get a chance to go and train at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim’s facilities for six years. The first batch of 15 youngsters left for Germany in August 2015.

The 15 youngsters joined the German club at its homebase in Zuzenhausen, Germany. The boys have been accompanied by U Dream coaches, former Indian international Mahesh Gawli and John Raj besides three teachers who will take care of the schooling for all the boys.

This season, to be able to make a bigger impact, U Dream Football conducted clinics with a select list of organizations across the country. The 2-3 day clinics were led by German coaches from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, where they briefly trained the talents to work on different aspects of their game, as well as scout for exceptional talent to be enrolled into the programme.

The U Dream Football’s scouting programme recently concluded its scouting in Goa and the coaches have shortlisted 10 Goan boys who could make the final list to travel to Germany.

The shortlisted players from Goa are Malcolm Mervin Gonsalves, Aaron Savio Alvares, Vijay Rathod, Nikhil Gurung, Darren Rebello, Sweden Fernandes, Ronsen Soares, Akshat Gopal Hadkonkar, Antonio Dylan Inacio Da Silva and Hansel Alister Coelho.

The final list of players that will make the trip to Germany will be announced by January 2016.
