IndianFootball.Com, India’s Premier Football Site, celebrated its 10th Anniversary, today.
IndianFootball.Com was founded on 10 April, 1998 by Arunava Chaudhuri, an expatriate Indian born and bred in Germany. Since its beginning, IndianFootball.Com has been the only real source for Indian football information on the web, not only focussing on a club or state but trying to bring as much as possible of football from across India to the footballing world.
The website started off with a single page with basic information on Indian football and a simple text headline in 1998.
From a one man team IndianFootball.Com has grown into an editorial team of 19 editors/correspondents based across the globe, led by Chaudhuri and Chris Punnakkattu Daniel. The main base is still in Germany plus Bangalore, Calcutta, Kochi, Mumbai, New Delhi and Pune in India and international branches in Dubai and North America.
The site grew in its quality and quantity over the last 10 years and the logo made no exception! The current IndianFootball.Com logo was designed by Editor-in-Chief and Creative Director Chris Punnakkattu Daniel in 2006. The logo is a combination of a traditional logo with elements of modern artwork and helped create a new professional corporate identity.
IndianFootball.Com does not restrict itself to journalistic work, but is actively involved in the development process of Indian football.
Among other things IndianFootball.Com has organised training camps for Indian national teams in Germany and helped European clubs with its expertise to tour India (e.g. FC Bayern Munich II). Further, it arranged a Memorandum of Understanding between the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and the Deutsche Fußball-Liga (German Bundesliga).
On the occasion of the 10th Anniversary, the site has thanked all its fans, the players, administrators, journalists and friends around the globe - for their support and interest in IndianFootball.Com and its content!
Arunava Chaudhuri, Founder & Editor-in-Chief, says, "When I started the website in April 1998, I never thought that the site could become something as big as this. When I started the site my aim was to keep myself and others updated on Indian football. Through the website I have had experiences and been part of events in the last decade which I never thought I could have. I’ve gotten involved in numerous things in the development of Indian football which I hope we can enhance in the future."
Chris Punnakkattu Daniel, Editor-in-Chief & Creative Director, adds, "We are delighted to complete 10 years in service. It’s a great achievement for a non-commercial website in the fast growing world of cyberspace! IndianFootball.Com is a prime example how football enthusiasts from around the globe get together and join hands to see their dream come true!"
